Creating the look within the budget

Often it’s budget constraints that create the need for some inventive problem solving. The images below show some specific solutions. First, a duffle bag that was shot in the studio is repurposed because the correct attention was paid to the lighting. In the two Zeiss ads, we shot models locally in the correct lighting and composited them into the original stock photography scenes. The third example for Pearl Izumi illustrates the perfect balance of getting it in camera and leaving it for post. Some things just look better in camera and other effects are much easier and less expensive to create in post production. In the last example, the shoe needed to look illuminated, and the best way to do that in this case was to get it all done in camera.
